Hotel de la Muse et du Rozier in Gorges du Tarn

dIn the middle of the splendid Gorges du Tarn, in between Lozère and Aveyron, there stands a hotel, not far from the beautiful new bridge of Millau. An outstandind kind of one – « Le Grand Hotel de la Muse et du Rozier ». However magnificent the countryside may be, the Grand Hotel matches it. A beautiful design, in and out, wonderful sight-seeing, perfect services, make it a destination second to none.

dWarm and heartily, a lounge atmosphere
That is, since Jean-Pierre, from Toulouse, and Sandrine, Montpellier-born, came back here where they belong, after a 10-years stint in the West Indies in hotels and restaurants. They seized the chance to rebuild, and quite recreate this century-old Grand Hotel, to make it fit to modern customers.

dJean-Paul and Sandrine have actually enjoyed to give their place a second youth, to make it live up to 21st century’s high standards. This is where any demanding traveller may seek peace, comfort, as well as, come what may, fabulous raids in the wild ! Their partnership with a well known designer helped Jean-Pierre and Sandrine giving their hotel that smooth, up-to-date while cozy atmosphere which recalls of some of the best lounge restaurants in Paris.

dThis « Grand Hotel De la Muse et du Rozier » has to be understood as a warm, heartily resort, where one can relax and feel at home. But there’s also a lot to do – for instance, let’s go for a trip in the Gorges du Tarn, up and down, to the inscrutable green river down there, or up to the desertic Causses, chasing wild eagles and other scavengers, by foot, riding mountain-bikes, whatever… And then, in the evening, hang around the pool, have a dive, or lazily lay down on one of the beaches alongside the river. On top of all, rest on the terrace, a cocktail in your hand, to gaze at the mysteries of the hills around, or just let your thoughts wander with the whirls of the stream beneath…

A synthesis between deep country and exotic cooking
The Chef has brought with him a powerful taste for country-flavoured products. Which go by numbers, from local delicatessen (charcuteries régionales) to Tarn trouts, and the Chef is firmly determined to try each and everyone of them, visiting local producers on a daily basis. But he also whishes to broaden minds and palates, by giving here and there an exotic touch to a traditional cooking which may tend to be a little too … traditional ? Hence, those « Tartares de thon (tuna tartars) », « Préparations à base de chutney (chutney-based meals) », and other « Soles à la coriandre (coriandr soles) », which are but a mere start to a brand new world !
