The traditional Quercy-stone buildings have been renovated
to the very highest standards, guaranteeing a luxurious
stay in stylish surroundings.
Josephine and Oz have left city life to fulfil their ambition of running an intimate hotel with a sense of homeliness.
They believe they have found an enchanting spot and want their clientele to enjoy their beautiful hotel and restaurant. Oz is head chef and is responsible for a menu that changes daily based on locally sourced seasonal produce purchased on the day for freshness.
Between them Josephine and Oz speak French, English, German and Spanish.Set within their private woodland, Josephine and Oz offer guests an idyllic environment in which to unwind and relax and enjoy the charm of their hotel.
The
hotel grounds border the River Lot and there is direct
access to the banks of the river via a winding, 12th-century
pathway. Le Mûrier de Viels is just 15 minutes
from the historic town of Figeac and an hour from the
cathedral town of Cahors.
Each of the hotel's seven spacious bedrooms has its
own individual character. All the rooms have been tastefully
decorated and each has an en suite bathroom, a television
and an individual telephone line.

Mûrier de Viels is set in an estate of 15-acres.
For those who enjoy walking, there are many paths to
follow in the grounds, including an ancient pathway
which leads all the way down to the banks of the River
Lot.
Le
Mûrier de Viels is perfectly situated for exploring
the Lot Valley and the southern Dordogne. The town of
Figeac - known as the "Ville d’Art et d’Histoire"
- is close by. It has an historic museum with a reproduction
of the Rosetta Stone set in granite. A few kilometres
down the valley, explore the delightful villages of
Cajac and St-Cirq-Lapopie, or travel on further to the
impressive cathedral town of Cahors.
