Canoeing
and kayaking on the Lot River
With
its rapids and calm waters, the Lot River
lends itself particularly to exploring by
canoe and kayak. This is an excellent way
to associate water sport with discovering
a region.
One of the most pleasant ways of really getting
to know the Olt country, otherwise known as
the Lot Valley, is by taking the meandering
rivers and streams.
The Lot River rises in Mont Lozere in the
Cevennes mountains. It flows through the Aveyron
département and is bordered by interesting
villages in pleasant surroundings, many of
which are classified historically: Espalion,
Estaing, St-Côme-d’Olt, St- Eulalie-d’Olt,
Entraygues, St-Geniez-d’Olt.
Canoeing
and kayaking on the Tarn and Dourbie rivers

The
Tarn is one of the most beautiful rivers in
France to navigate.
Stretching from the Tarn gorges upstream of
Millau, through the valley leading to Albi,
the crystal clear waters of the Tarn make
their way through spectacular landscapes in
the heart of the Grandes Causses regional
park.
Interesting villages with a Southern-France
flavour lie on the banks, and there are many
chateaux to visit on the way.
When the water starts to flow fast, you can
explore this natural environment by canoe,
kayak, or raft.
You can discover the valley in large, safe,
fully-inflated rafts and enjoy the pleasure
of your first descent. Each member of the
team is supplied with a paddle and will be
taught how to steer the raft under the instructions
of a qualified guide.
