If
you walk along the lovely Quai Voltaire on the
left bank of the Seine, you will enjoyed for lunch
or diner La Fregate. It seems like gorgeous belle
epoque brasserie. La Fregate has not change since
1870.
This
Brasserie owes its name from a school boat, wich
was drawn along side the seine bank while the
Second Empire across the Rue du Bac and the Quai
Voltaire. Here it is the neigborhood of famous
french writers.

Do as Henry de Montherland the very demanding
epicurean who used to come each day to savour
alone or with his friends a classical and skiful
cuisine that have been elaborated with talent
for more than twenty years.
It is still the restaurant of many writters, painters,
musicians, but also of senior official from the
french academy, the Beaux-Arts school, the Musée
d'Orsay or the Assemblée Nationale.
La
Fregate is appreciated for its two rooms : the
brasserie with its mahogany counter and its pewter
counter, and its comfortable and luxuous restaurant
with its Art-Nouveau cressets and its stained-glass
window.
There you will be well sitted, you will find a
beautiful table with an high quality dishes as
cuisine and reception are. At lunch time, an excellent
menu is served for 15,50 Euros with a main course,
a glass of win and a dessert. Food is excellent,
well prepared, tasty. For dinner, famous fish
are proposed... And the homemade dessert are just
famous. Bon appetit !
