Here is a friendly and inexpensive bistro, a perfect place to have a rest and a nice meal after a steep climb on Montmartre Hill. La Bande a Bon'Eau is a play on words due to a famous french bandit, Jules Bonnot, who was the first to organise a hold-up using cars in 1910. It was the just on the other side of the street.

But, if this friendly bistro gather all the neighbourhood in a perfect melting pot, it is mainly due to the personality of Corine and Jean-Claude Fabie who give to their place a warm ambiance!

Ask Jean-Claude behind his bar to make you discover little wines of bistros like Morgon Beaujolais (morgon) or Coteaux du Tricastin. And after, sit at table and ask Corine for a real meal. You will savour a perfect blend of country Cantal and Aveyron, their respective native regions.
They cook the products of their native region of Auvergne. An example if you feel hungry, in first-course order a Foie gras from Aveyron served with toast bread. For the main course , try the “Aubrac Beef entrecôte“ great speciality of the house famous among those who like beef meat. Of course, the waitress will bring you portions of aligot (a puree made with Tomme cheese of Auvergne, butter and mashed potatoes-See below ), from a black cast-iron casserol. But there is others inventives and tasty meals. Taste the planche du bougnat (9€) with ham and saussages from Aveyron and a piece of marvelous Cantal cheese done with crude milk. Enjoy the life in Paris Montmartre.
